The 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series goes to Jeff Kober, who played Cyrus Renault on General Hospital. Other actors in the same category include Bryton James (Devon Hamilton, Y&R), Aaron D. Spears (Justin Barber, B&B), James Patrick Stuart (Valentin Cassadine, GH), and Jordi Vilasuso (Rey Rosales, Y&R).
This is the second Daytime Emmy nomination for Kober and his first win. The actor has long been a talented character actor bringing to life memorable turns on such critically acclaimed shows as China Beach, The X-Files, ER, Lost, Sons Of Anarchy, and The Walking Dead.
Kober joined the cast of General Hospital in 2020 in the pivotal role of Cyrus Renault, the half-brother of legacy character Laura Webber Collins (Genie Francis), and biological brother to Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight). As a dangerous drug runner from the Pacific Northwest, Renault arrived in Port Charles with a vengeance, putting many residents in his crosshairs.
Thanks to his artistic strokes, Kober created a multi-layered villain that fans, at times, actually felt sorry for. There was electricity in the air whenever Kober appeared in a scene and the Academy agreed. Soap Hub congratulates Jeff Kober on taking home Daytime Emmy gold.
