General Hospital is becoming quite the safe haven for former stars of the hit show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
The show, which was a huge hit in the 1990s starring now-film star Will Smith, already sent over Vernee Watson (Stella), who played Viola ‘Vy’ Smith on the show. Now Entertainment Weekly has announced that Janet Hubert has been cast.
Hubert portrayed Vivian Banks for the first few seasons (she was later replaced by Daphne Reid for the rest of the show’s run) and will now be joining Mike’s (Max Gail) story.
She will be playing a new character named Yvonne, who is also residing in the assisted living facility. It looks like not only will she be a new love interest for Mike, she may have a connection in Port Charles.
This isn’t Hubert’s first foray into daytime. In 1999, she played Alice Dawson on All My Children and later Lisa Williamson on One Life to Live.
Look for her to debut on December 7.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
