Do General Hospital’s Ned and Olivia still live in Port Charles? We know Leo’s nanny does, because she’s constantly being saddled with Danny and Scout while Sam (Kelly Monaco) helps Jason (Steve Burton) defend Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) honor.
But where are Ned (Wally Kurth) and Olivia (Lisa LoCicero)? He lost the race for mayor, and she…uhm…still hates Julian (William deVry)? Those aren’t exactly stories. They’re not even supporting stories. They’re plot points. Nobody cares about.
Would fans like to see Ned and Olivia on their screens, actually doing stuff? What over 16,000 viewers hope happens:
Happy Couples
GH isn’t exactly overflowing with happy couples these days. And we have to assume Ned and Olivia are happy…somewhere off-screen. Might be nice to see that on-screen, 64% of you suggest. They could serve as role models.
And if we can’t see them together, you’ll settle for apart. Olivia could be there for Lulu (Emme Rylan). She can counter the narrative that Dante (Dominic Zaparonga) took off just for the heck of it and not, you know, to deal with his crippling Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
We can watch her co-parent with Julian. Maybe she’ll get one of her famous, psychic flashes about the whole Wiley mess. That’ll keep her busy, trying to straighten it out.
That’s where Ned might come in. He can help Michael (Chad Duell) fight to get his son back. Ned can become the Quartermaine patriarch, ala Edward. It’s not like anyone else is around to fight for the job.
Distance Makes the Heart Grow Fonder
We’ve got just as much Ned and Olivia as we currently need, 36% of the fans counter. They’re happy? Let them stay happy. Moving to the front-burner only leads to trouble, everybody knows that. If you love Ned and Olivia and want to see their marriage succeed, don’t ask for more airtime.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
