It was a 10-hankie day on General Hospital (GH) as Maxie bid farewell to her beloved husband after he felt their baby move inside her for the first time. The scenes were bittersweet and heartbreaking and Nathan seems gone for good–but is he?
According to Ryan Paevey, Nathan is gone–“for now.” That is exactly what the actor said yesterday as he live-tweeted the GH episode when Nathan said goodbye to Maxie.
He started off the tweet session by confirming his departure, saying: “Okay guys, so to get this one out of the way…for now, yes, Nathan West will be gone.”
Of course, he is leaving the door open for his return should the soap have him and he decides he wants to make a Port Charles comeback.
He admitted the decision to leave was his alone, but the soap gave him a better exit story than he ever imagined, with Nathan looking forward to fatherhood just as he learned the identity of his own father. And then, he was shot and killed by that father.
But, yes, Paevey is off the canvas for now–and maybe even for good. He hopes to appear in action movies one of these days, and also make more Hallmark made-for-TV flicks. And, of course, he’s still creating gorgeous pieces with his jewelry line.
Still, this is a soap and dead is often not really dead, so you never know what can happen down the line.
