Meghan Markle is in the public eye a great deal now that she’s married to Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana’s son, Prince Harry, but back in her acting days, she had to pay her dues just like most young artists. Nancy Lee Grahn recently shared a fun memory from Markle’s time as part of the General Hospital cast.

Grahn took to social media to show one of Meghan Markle’s earliest acting jobs. “Look who played a nurse on #Gh?,” Grahn wrote, sharing a trio of photos of a young Markle with John J. York’s Mac Scorpio. “She was a lovely young [woman] then, and still is.”

For those who want to see more of the scene, head over to YouTube and there are several versions where you can see her character used in the background talking with Mac while A Martinez (Roy DiLucca) and Stuart Damon (Alan Quartermaine) have a serious talk.

Markle may have had a little help in snagging the extra role as her dad, Thomas Markle, was a long-time lighting director for the show. While her first TV credit is playing a student on Married With Children in 1995, Meghan Markle’s GH appearance is listed second on her IMDb page, with the name Jill associated with her character.

A number of small roles followed, including parts on Cuts, Beverly Hills, 90210, CSI NY, Knight Rider, and Without a Trace. Eventually, all those guest spots led to her nabbing a starring role in the USA hit legal drama, Suits. For seven years and 108 episodes, Markle played Rachel Zane, a paralegal who rose to become an attorney.

It was while doing the show that Markle met Prince Harry and their relationship bloomed. Once the announcement was made that the couple would be getting married and Meghan Markle would become The Duchess of Sussex, her character was written out of the show. She has not acted since, though the Royal couple has set up their own production company, Archwell Productions, and there’s always a chance she will be in front of the cameras again.
