You’ve seen her on General Hospital as Alexis Davis for over two decades, but Nancy Lee Grahn has appeared on plenty of other television shows and recently revealed an awesome backstage story from one of them.
It all started when another Twitter account, @NLGrahnEvents — Nancy Lee Grahn Events — shared an old clip of Grahn on the show Simon & Simon for Flashback Friday, saying, “#fbf to when @NancyLeeGrahn trained dolphins on Simon & Simon #GH 🐬🐬”
The tweet caught the attention of the actress, who chose to retweet it– but also decided to let fans in on what was happening behind the scenes on the day she filmed her scenes with those incredible dolphins and what went into preparing to do it.
“#fbf I remember they gave me a 5-minute lesson and shoved me out in a boat that I had to paddle myself to get to the mound and said ‘Good Luck’ The poor dolphin wasn’t used to acting with an amateur but I did the best I could.”
That makes at least two GH actresses with dolphin experience. Co-star Leslie Charleson (Monica) co-starred in the film Day of the Dolphin with George C. Scott — a movie where dolphins were taught to talk but then were kidnapped and used for nefarious purposes.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
