As if falling for her daughter’s killer wasn’t awful enough, it looks like General Hospital is gearing up to rock Ava’s world once again. At least that seems like the clue seen in a picture announcing that Alien actress Veronica Cartwright will be joining the show in a top-secret role.
The casting of this special five-episode arc was first reported by EW.com and showed a picture of Cartwright in a restaurant with Maura West’s Ava.
Could this mean that the show is bringing back Ava’s mother, Delia, who was last played by the woman who originated the character on Ryan’s Hope — Ilene Kristen? Kristen appeared on GH whenever they needed her from 2013-2015 but she does live in New York and may not have been available for another appearance.
While it’s possible she could be connected to the upcoming cover of Crimson, perhaps as the photographer who would be shooting Ava, that doesn’t seem as likely and certainly wouldn’t pack the emotional wallop that bringing back Ava’s mother would.
After all, her granddaughter was recently murdered and there should be plenty of fallout from that. Either way, it should make for some incredible viewing and frankly, we can’t wait!
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
