When Nelle first arrived on General Hospital (GH) all fans knew was that she was Josslyn’s mysterious kidney donor – which Joss really needed, what with Jake still walking around with both of his…and not being dead.
You suspected she had an agenda – why would anyone try to sleep with Sonny (Maurice Benard) otherwise?
And she did. She wasn’t just a Carly 2.0. She was actually the daughter of Carly’s (Laura Wright) adoptive father, Frank Benson. Frank left Carly’s long-suffering (what else could you be with Carly for a daughter?) adoptive mother, Virgina, when Carly was a baby.
Carly didn’t grow up with him, and they weren’t biologically related, so why Nelle’s kidney was such a good fit for Joss and why Nelle held such a grudge against her “sibling” is… unclear.
But, anyway, there you have it. The big Nelle (Chloe Lanier) reveal.

Mama Drama
Everything about Nelle has been so anticlimactic, 69% of you are chomping at the bit that maybe a ‘who’s her mother’ reveal might finally make the story worthwhile.
Could she be someone from Sonny’s past? Maybe yet another teenage stripper he drugged prior to becoming the saint of Port Charles? What about Hannah, the FBI agent who, like all women, fell in love with him? Another Bensonhurst cousin of Connie and Olivia? You’ll take anything!
Like Mother, Like Daughter – Boring!
Nothing will improve this story, 31% of the audience decrees. Bringing on Nelle’s mother will only prolong the misery.
Better to end it now, send Nelle far, far away, and never speak of either again. There is no reveal in the world fascinating enough to make up for everything that went before.
