Missing In Action: The General Hospital Friz Wedding. So, Why?

Hooray! General Hospital will give us the wedding of the year next week. The one we’ve been waiting for with beloved actors we’ve become attached to for years.

Wait, no, wrong wedding. Next week, Jordan and Curtis marry, and although we’ve seen them spar and fall in love over the last three years, we didn’t see THIS Jordan spar and fall in love with Curtis.

But, it’s a wedding, right? Do we even care if the bride and her son look absolutely nothing like they did a year ago? Or even two months ago? Nope, we don’t. (Narrator: We do.)

No, GH, you can’t just give us a wedding with characters we don’t recognize (not the fault of the Briana Nicole Henry and Tajh Bellow, the new Jordan and TJ) and satisfy our soap wedding craving.

You have to give us a wedding with a couple who already had their first try at nuptials earlier this year. Oh, remember them? Liz and Franco, who were all set to marry last winter, but an upstate NY earthquake interrupted? (OK, it was fracking.) What happened to their second try at a big shindig?

Weren’t Liz (Rebecca Herbst) and Franco (Roger Howarth) planning the guest list for the second time around with Franco trying to get Liz to invite Sarah, but we were introduced to Terry instead?

So, what happened? They haven’t even mentioned their wedding for months while their fanbase has waited not-so-patiently for the big day. November sweeps would have been a nice time to do this right, but instead, we get…Jordan and Curtis.

And, it honestly makes no sense to get invested in a wedding when there is a new actress in the role of the bride. Plus, her first month or so on the show she shared not one scene with Donnell Turner’s Curtis.

We were never given time to become invested in this incarnation of the pair before they walk down the aisle and we just want to know why.

Why is Liz and Franco’s wedding being pushed back for this couple? Weddings are supposed to be a payoff for fans, but where is the payoff when the wedding features an almost-new couple?
