Miracle Cure: Should Oscar Recover On General Hospital?

Oscar has an incurable tumor on General Hospital. So… should it be cured? He wouldn’t be the first Port Charles citizen to avoid a death sentence. Walk when medical science says they’ll never walk. See when medical science says they’ll never see, etc…

So, what’s a little shrunken brain tumor between friends? Franco (Roger Howarth) had one removed and went from killer sociopath to beloved goof-ball (with only a few slips in between). So, why not pull off the same miracle for Oscar (Garren Stitt)?

Healing Hands
Of course we want a miracle cure, 85% can’t believe they’re even being asked. What kind of monster roots for a teenage boy who hasn’t done anything wrong beyond yelling at his parents and whining about his fate (who wouldn’t?) to die before he’s even had the chance to start living?

Sure, Oscar and Joss’ (Eden McCoy) romance may not exactly set the world on fire, but that’s still no reason to impose a death sentence on him.

Oscar is Kim’s (Tamra Braun) only child, he’s one of the few Quartermaines still left on the canvas, and he and Drew (Billy Miller) are just getting to know each other.

Killing him off now would be too cruel. Just send him out of town if you’re sick of him. No need to take desperate measures.

Real World Problems
Get real, 15% of you insist. A miracle cure wouldn’t be realistic. The world is a rough place, and good-hearted teenagers die, unfortunately. GH has the chance to tell a tear-jerking story along the lines of BJ or Stone’s death.

Bad things happen to good people, and watching Kim, Drew, Joss, and the rest struggle with that could make a more gripping story that Oscar is coming out unscathed.
