Nearly three million people have hashtagged on Instagram ‘National Best Friend Day’ in honor of the day set aside to shine a light on BFFs. Current The Young and the Restless star and General Hospital alum Michelle Stafford is among them. The actress shared on social media her pal is someone with whom she’s worked on not one, but two different soap operas!
Michelle Stafford Names Finola Hughes
“Did someone say #nationalbestfriendday hmmm… looks like @finolafilona is dubious,” Stafford wrote, referring to a photo of her and Hughes (Anna) taken at the Daytime Emmys in 2018 when the pair presented together. The two were not only co-stars on General Hospital when Stafford played Nina, but they also worked together on the short-lived Aaron Spelling primetime serial Pacific Palisades in 1997.
“I LOOOOVE this gal!! She is the original badass,” Stafford, who’s currently playing Phyllis on YR, continued. “The greatest friend to ALL. So supportive of everyone and laughs at all of my jokes. That is the kind of pal to have #GH #YR. Side story: in the second pic here we are presenting together at the [Daytime] Emmys 2018…”
Stafford suggested to her pal that they not hold hands when they walk to the podium in order to present their award. “I said, ‘Listen, when we walk out on stage, please let’s not do something cheesy like hold hands,'” Stafford suggested. “Of course, I walk out there and what’s the first thing I do? Grab her hand.
“That is why she will ALWAYS be cooler than me…” Stafford offers. “That’s why we’re laughing here. I mean she almost didn’t take it because I was so adamant about not holding hands…I guess when you get out there you just turn to cheese… or, I turn to cheese.”
“This is awesome!! And so so true,” posted GH co-star Laura Wright (Carly). Check out Stafford’s Instagram post below, which includes a shot of her and Hughes holding hands!
