Michael’s Disastrous Love Life: Why Can’t Carly’s Kid Find Happiness?

Unlucky at love takes on new meaning when it comes to Michael Corinthos. The General Hospital (GH) twentysomething, who just broke up with his duplicitous girlfriend Nelle, can’t get it right when it comes to women.

And when he occasionally does, it ends in disaster. Here’s a look back at Michael’s (Chad Duell) dismal love life.

Abby
Sam (Kelly Monaco) introduced Michael to her stripper friend, Abby (Andrea Bogart), to help him overcome his prison rape and move forward with a healthy sexual relationship. Their friendship blossomed into a sweet love, and Michael grew protective of his new girlfriend.

When several of Abby’s friends from the club were attacked, Michael asked Tracy to send her out of town on ELQ business. Sadly, Abby met her demise at a construction site, when a crane accidentally dropped its cargo on her.

Starr
Michael and Starr (Kristen Alderson) bonded after he tried, but failed, to save her boyfriend and daughter from a tragic car accident. The pair faced an immediate strain when Michael’s dad, Sonny (Maurice), was blamed for causing Anthony Zacchara to crash into Starr and her family’s vehicle.

Sonny was eventually cleared, Starr had no choice but to accept the verdict, and Michael and Starr moved forward as a couple. That is, until Starr abruptly broke things off and split town.

Kiki
Although Kiki (Kristen Alderson) was Morgan’s (Bryan Craig) girlfriend and eventual wife, Michael couldn’t fight his attraction to her. Yet, there was another obstacle: the pair believed they were cousins.

Upon learning they weren’t and that Morgan had kept mum about it, Kiki ended her marriage and began dating Michael. However, a bigger secret destroyed the couple. Michael found out Kiki and Morgan knew Sonny had killed his biological father A.J. and kept it from him. He told them they were both out of his life.

Sabrina
Michael fell for Sabrina (Teresa Castillo), after he hired her to care for his little sister, Avery. He soon realized the kindly nurse was girlfriend material, and they began dating.

Michael even stood by her side when she turned up pregnant with Carlos’s baby. He vowed to raise the child as his own and surprise Sabrina with a proposal. He never got the chance, because she was murdered by Paul Hornsby.

Nelle
After Nelle’s ‘fessed up about her vendetta against Carly and plot to destroy the Corinthos family, Michael opted to give the misguided schemer a second chance. As pieces of her tainted past emerged, Michael continued to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Yet, Nelle’s continuous lies ultimately became her undoing, as Michael announced he couldn’t trust her and they were done.
