Dr. Bensch has seemed creepy from his first appearance on General Hospital (GH).
While Sam (Kelly Monaco) tried to hook him up with Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), Bensch (James DePaiva) has always seemed more interested in Kiki (Hayley Erin).
It’s one thing that she’s young enough to be his (grand)daughter, but the bigger issue is that he is her superior.
Kiki wants to be a doctor, and a lot of that hinges on how Bensch evaluates her. So when the slimy sociopath kisses her, should Kiki risk turning him in – or risk the situation escalating?
Here is what almost 10,000 members of your ad hoc ethics committee had to say:
Everyone Is Doing It!
It’s got its own hashtag on Twitter, for Pete’s sake, 91% of you remind. Turning in creepy sexual harassers who threaten a woman’s (or man’s) livelihood is the in thing! All the cool kids are doing it!
And Kiki totally should. Bensch may be her superior at the hospital, but let’s get real: She’s a contract player, he’s not. And well, he really shouldn’t have done what he did. So, there’s that.
Oh, and then there’s Mama Ava (Maura West). And Uncle Julian (William DeVry). Do you really see a guy who hit upon their precious Kiki being allowed to go on breathing for long – no matter what the ethics committee ultimately says?
Ignore Him
Bensch is harmless, a minority 8% of the audience dismisses. He tried, he failed, and if Kiki freezes him out, he’ll move on. Why make waves and risk her career, when it’s something that will likely blow over if Kiki just sweeps it under the rug?
Besides, do you really see a guy who hit upon Ava and Julian’s precious Kiki being allowed to go on breathing for long – no matter what the ethics committee ultimately says?
There’s getting someone fired… And there’s getting someone murdered.
