Valerie General Hospital
General Hospital has lost Brytni Sarpy, who vacated her role as Valerie Spencer to join The Young and the Restless as Elena. The show has recast the role and Valerie’s new portrayer is set to debut next month.
TV Insider broke the news that daytime newcomer Paulina Bugembe has been hired to take over the role of Bobbie Spencer’s (Jackie Zeman) niece, who was recently promoted to the position of detective in the Port Charles Police Department.
No specific air date has been announced but the report says Bugembe will debut sometime next month.
The actress’ other television credits include Scandal, For the People, The Good Place, and Reverie.
A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Bugembe studied directing at the MFA program at Chapman University in Orange County, Calif.
In addition to acting, Bugembe has produced, written, and directed short films.
Valerie was last seen having a fallout with pal Kristina Corinthos (Lexi Ainsworth), following her becoming increasingly devoted to the Dawn of Day cult.
