Maybe, Baby: Will Something Go Wrong With Carly’s Pregnancy On General Hospital?

Carly is pregnant yet again on General Hospital! Her first child, Michael (Chad Duell), triggered decades worth of story, lead to Jason (Steve Burton) and Robin (Kimberly McCullough) breaking up, Tony (Brad Maule) losing his mind, and Carly’s (then-Sarah Brown) first trip to the loony bin.

She got pregnant again, which led to her first marriage to Sonny — that time, it was against Carly’s will.

Her second child, Morgan, was born just as Sonny (Maurice Benard) shot a laboring Carly (then-Tamra Braun) in the head.

Her daughter with Jax (Ingo Rademacher) needed a kidney transplant, which leads to two separate stories, Jake’s “death” and Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) revenge scheme.

The point is, Carly doesn’t do uneventful pregnancies…or kids. So, will something happen to this one? How over 17,000 viewers voted:

Of course, something will go wrong, 55% of you have no doubt. For one thing, Carly is already a grandma. How did she get pregnant in the first place? You’ve been expecting this baby to be lost from the start.

You expected first Ryan (Jon Lindstrom), then Ava (Maura West) to somehow be at fault. As if Sonny and Carly need more reasons to be self-righteous. If the pregnancy is brought to term, expect a health crisis, a baby switch, or a straight-up kidnapping. Otherwise, what would be the point of any baby?

Sonny and Carly deserve some happiness, 45% of the audience urges. You’re hoping for a healthy, uneventful pregnancy, and easy delivery of a bouncing baby three-month-old who can hold up its own head.

This baby will make up for the loss of Morgan — you expect him or her to be named after Morgan; good thing it’s an androgynous name! Another Corinthos is just what Port Charles needs!
