In the May 19 episode of General Hospital, Valentin put all common sense aside as he became determined to help Anna. Valentin putting Anna above everything else gave Carly a clue she won’t soon forget.

Key Takeaways

  • Valetin was willing to risk it all for Anna.
  • Carly clocked that he was still in love with his ex.
  • There’s only one reason Valentin put his plan on hold, and it wasn’t Carly.

Nothing Can Stop Valentin from Being Anna’s Savior

It should surprise no one that Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) was ready to drop everything to rush to France to save Anna (Finola Hughes). Once he learned she escaped and was about to be forced into a difficult patient facility, Valentin went into savior mode.

Only Valentin can save Anna, in his eyes. Not even super spy Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) can do what needs to be done to help Anna, and Valentin said as much to Carly (Laura Wright). When the latter tried to reason with Valentin, he didn’t listen to anything she said.

Valentin was in his own head, determined to find a way to get to France. It didn’t matter that he had a plan with Carly to save Josslyn (Eden McCoy) while also bringing down Sidwell (Carlo Rotta), Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), and Jack (Chris McKenna).

Carly Just Got a Serious Reality Check

In the middle of their fight, Valentin declared Carly would risk it all to save Jason (Steve Burton) if he needed. Carly hit back that she would not do that at the expense of her daughter, someone Valentin vowed to help save just minutes before he got the Anna call.

Things took an even sharper turn for Carly and Valentin when she accused him of still being in love with Anna. While they were interrupted by Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and Charlotte (Bluesy Burke).

The teens filled them in on what they heard at Wyndemere about Cullum and Sidwell blackmailing Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) with her Huntington’s disease medication. Valentin told the teens not to worry because he planned to shut down Faison’s (Anders Hove) and instantly his focus was off Anna, for now.

What This Means for Carly and Valentin

It makes total sense that Valentin would put his daughter first. Even Carly can’t fault him for that. However, the fact that he was so determined to put Josslyn’s (Eden McCoy) safety aside for Anny speaks volumes.

Carly nailed it when she said Valentin still loved Anna because he does. Anna has been his obsession and love for most of his life. Even though they aren’t together, that hasn’t changed and it never will.

Valentin and Carly’s relationship is new. They both know that it is riddled with problems and may not stand the test of time but that doesn’t mean there aren’t real feelings there.

However, given that Valentin was ready to ditch Carly and their plan to find Josslyn for Anna, speaks volumes. The moment was big for the new couple. It also just might change where their romance is headed.

We are big fans of Carly and Valentin as a duo. They bring some new romance to the mix, but how Carly reacts to knowing Anna will forever be Valentin’s number one will determine their future.
