Maurice Benard’s Incredible Words As Daughter Graduates College

It is moving for every parent when they witness their child graduate but for General Hospital star, Maurice Benard, the momentous occasion was especially moving for a very important reason — and he shares exactly why.

Everyone knows how passionate Sonny Corinthos is about his family, but he doesn’t hold a candle to how his portrayer feels about his real-life family.

Any time Benard shares something about one of his kids, it’s from the heart and you can see the love in he has for each of them.

Benard recently opened up about how much it meant to see his daughter Cailey graduate. In a video, he posted to his Instagram page, he shows himself making a speech on her special day — and we dare you to not reach for a tissue while watching it.

“‘SPEECH ‘ One of the only things I regret in life is that I didn’t get the education I should have. But I feel I can live vicariously through my daughter Cailey who in my eyes just climbed Mount Everest! #college #love #harrypotter #USD,” he wrote.

Obviously overcome by emotion, he tells his daughter how incredibly proud he is of her for this accomplishment. He spoke of his own difficulty just graduating from high school but she had her eye on doing this and she was able to. You can watch the loving father make his speech in the post below.
