Maurice Benard Experiences Heartbreaking Loss

It’s never easy to lose a special friend, and for General Hospital (GH) star Maurice Benard the pain was devastating.

The fan favorite revealed that his beloved dog has passed away: “Sometimes life throws you a curve ball well life through me a home run. He was my partner my best friend and he was my buddy. Rest in peace my sweet boy.”

Fellow soap star Doug Davidson (Paul, The Young and the Restless) offered Benard some comfort. The actor played Steve Burton’s (ex-Dylan; Jason on GH) father on the show and after getting the Tweet (see below), Benard thanked him and mentioned that Burton always speaks so highly of him and he understands why.

Cain was a long coat Akita and has been a mainstay on Benard’s social media posts. The actor isn’t alone now though — he got a puppy a little while ago, so hopefully they’re helping each other through the loss of such a beautiful and loyal friend.

Soap Hub sends condolences to Maurice Benard and his family on the loss of Cain.

General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
