Matt Cohen’s Breathtaking Message As Kids Go Back To School

General Hospital fans know that former priest-turned-doctor Griffin Munro was one of the kindest men around, preaching about being good to each other, and it looks like that might have rubbed off on his former portrayer, Matt Cohen. Then again, we’re sure he’s always been this way — but now he’s asking the same of kids everywhere.

Cohen took to Instagram to share a special video asking kids, as the new school year is underway in much of the country, to be kind to each other — especially if they see someone having a rough time of it.

Along with the video plea, which is very important in the wake of so many school shootings by people who have felt like outsiders, Cohen also wrote the following caption, saying, “Be kind. Please. Reach out and help someone. It is way easier to be nice. 🤙🤡🤙”

You truly never know what kind of difference you can make in someone’s life by reaching out and showing them that someone truly does care and in a world filled with so much violence, you may end up making the difference.

In the video, Cohen reveals he simply wanted to put this out there as it was on his mind, knowing that so many kids are going back to school this week. The handsome actor is also a father. His son Macklin turned 4 in April and could be heading off to pre-school himself.

Not only that, but Cohen also has completed work on a TV movie called The Husband, in which he plays a character named Jason. The film, a thriller, was shot back in April. Cohen shared the news at the time via Twitter.

“Wrapped!!! Thank you to one of the hardest working crews in movie making!! For the last 15 days, we cried, laughed, and grew together! I’m forever grateful to have met you all. Thanks for making this project great! xoxo @LaneShefterBish”

As for Griffin, the door has certainly been left open should the actor ever want to return to GH. Good friends like Anna (Finola Hughes) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) are still in town, as is former lover, Ava (Maura West). Also, there’s still the mystery of his mother that Olivia (Tonja Walker) seemed to tease, so there’s plenty of story to mine.

General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
