Are You Loving the Young Love? Fans Rate General Hospital’s Joss and Oscar

Where would soaps be without young love? Once, on General Hospital (GH), that position was held by Laura and Scotty, Robin and Stone, Liz and Lucky, Georgie and Dillon, Molly and TJ….

Now it’s Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Oscar’s (Garren Stitt) turn to carry that banner. But are fans buying what they’re selling? Almost 3,000 viewers gave us their opinions.

Cuteness Overload
For the 75% of fans who remember the days when Carly (Laura Wright) and Jax’s (Ingo Rademacher) baby girl was affectionately dubbed “Big Headed Joss” online, and for those who are dying to meet Oscar’s mom — mostly so she can fill you in on who Oscar’s dad might be — this burgeoning case of puppy love is just totes adorbs.

Every soap needs a pair of teenagers stumbling awkwardly into first love, and Joss and Oscar certainly fit that bill to a T!

Awk-Ward
On the other hand, sometimes those first stirrings are just too awkward, and that’s how 25% of you feel about the coupling.

The pair just doesn’t come off as natural together. They look like they’re going through the motions and not really all that into each other for any reason beyond The Script Says They Are.

Plus, there’s the concern that Sonny (Maurice Benard) may turn out to be Oscar’s father. Which would make the teens step-siblings. And if the real dad is Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), that would make Joss Oscar’s step-aunt!

Sure, soap relationships (and family trees) are convoluted. But experienced adults are better at navigating those choppy waters. Kids have enough problems without throwing hints of incest into the mix.

Sorry, Joss. Sorry, Oscar. You may just have to find other folks to crush on until everything is settled, once and for all.
