General Hospital (GH) has a history of putting odd couples together, and Ava and Griffin are among its oddest.
She is a mafia princess who has no qualms about doing anything she has to – to anyone she has to – in order to get her way. Or just to ruin someone’s day.
He is…a former priest.
Yet these opposites attracted. And moved in together. Ava (Maura West) has told Griffin she loves him. But how does Griffin (Matt Cohen) really feel about her? Does he love her or does he love her not? Over 10,000 viewers plucked as many daisy petals to find out:

He doesn’t, 76% of you judge – some with glee, some with resignation. If Griffin truly loved Ava, he would be taking her side in the battle for Avery. Ava was genuinely panicked when her daughter disappeared with her dementia-addled grandpa Mike (Max Gail), and she has every right to want full custody.
Frankly, Ava had every right to want full custody from the beginning, what with her being the tot’s mother, and no more dangerous of a criminal than Avery’s father.

But Griffin insists on seeing Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) point of view. No man who could think that Sonny’s oft-proclaimed big, generous, loving heart is somehow superior to Ava’s feelings for her daughter could ever claim to truly love her.
A World Of Yes
Griffin does so love Ava, 23% of the audience counters. Loving someone doesn’t mean you have to agree with everything they do. In fact, loving someone means risking them getting angry by pointing out they’re making a mistake. Griffin isn’t happy with some of the choices Ava has been making lately, and he’s told her so.
That only proves his love for Ava. And that Griffin isn’t a doormat. Ava should respect and love him more for that.
