No one would disagree that Alexis needs to get her head examined on General Hospital. The woman is a walking, talking contradiction. Proclaiming herself a defender of justice, then getting in bed with the mob.
Loudly lecturing what a strong, independent female she is, then getting weak in the knees the first time a man – any man, though usually a criminal – gives her the time of day. Espousing the highest moral standards…then not actually having any.
So, yes, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) is in desperate need of therapy. Is Neil (Joe Flanigan) the guy to fix her head? And maybe her heart, too? Over 17,000 fans lay down on our couch to discuss it:
Psych Out!
Yes, please, 62% of you shout. After everything Alexis has been through, she deserves a nice, smart, not-mob-connected guy to sweep her off her feet. Sure, there’s the whole doctor-patient relationship thing to overcome, but, as we noted above, Alexis’ morals have never been the strongest.
Neil might teach Alexis how to slow down, calm down, and stand down. He can get to the bottom of her lousy taste in men, her rocky relationship with her daughters, and why she’s so sure she’s better than everyone else, when no facts are in evidence.
Buyer, Beware
Let’s get real, 38% of the audience sighs, we know this works. If Neil seems like a nice, normal, loving and caring guy, it’s only a matter of time before Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Jason (Steve Burton) figure out that he’s actually the head of a rival crime syndicate, or someone sent to pry their secrets out of a gullible Alexis.
They – with Carly’s (Laura Wright) support – will swoop in, rescue Alexis and, once again, prove how she can’t trust anyone by them. And Alexis will be right back where she started.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
