Pity General Hospital’s Alexis. She is a strong, independent, empowered, professional woman… who things just keep happening to. She accidentally slept with Olivia’s husband. She accidentally stabbed Olivia’s son with a poisonous syringe. Sure, she was aiming for Franco (Roger Howarth) with the latter, and drunk both times.
General Hospital Poll Results
Should Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) be made to pay for things which she, honestly, had no control over? After all, the choice of whether or not to sleep with Ned (Wally Kurth) or kill a man with premeditation wasn’t up to her. What almost 2,000 viewers had to say about Alexis’s potential jail time:
Safely Sober
As long as Alexis pinkie swears never to drink again, she should be set free, 37% of you insist. Sure, Alexis has proven in the past that she most definitely doesn’t have her drinking problem under control, that she can’t stay away from the bottle for an extended period of time, and that, when she drinks, she does dumb and illegal things. But, this time, you’re sure she really means it when she promises to be good.
Not Guilty By Reason Of Insanity
Alexis was out of her mind, a slightly smaller 35% of the audience reminds. She wasn’t in control, which means she isn’t to blame for her actions. And if she wasn’t to blame for her actions, then she can’t be punished for what she did. It’s really basic logic.
Killer Instinct
The vote was awfully close, almost a third for each option, with 28% of the fans pointing out the inconvenient truth that she…uh… actually tried to kill someone. Sure, not the guy she ended up stabbing, but it’s not like she was innocently taking a walk with a syringe and stumbled onto Dante (Dominic Zamprogna).
We realize a lifetime of exposure to Sonny (Maurice Benard) can make people forget that sometimes criminals get punished. Alexis was an officer of the court. She should know that. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listing for air times.
