When Bree Williamson reported to work for her first day as Claudette on “General Hospital” yesterday, she had a soap opera reunion of a lifetime.
The former “One Life to Live” actress didn’t even have to test for the role. Instead, Executive Producer Frank Valentini (her OLTL boss) offered it to her on a silver platter.
“He said that Claudette is spicy and a bad girl and that it was going to be fun. And I said, ‘Okay, cool, I’m in!'” Williamson told Soap Opera Digest.
Of course, accepting the job also means she gets to work with her former Llanview co-stars, including Roger Howarth who played Todd Manning and Michael Easton who played John McBain on the ill-fated soap.
When both “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” taped in New York, many actors knew each other, so Williamson also reunited with Rebecca Budig (ex-Greenlee, AMC) and Finola Hughes, whose character Anna lived in Pine Valley for a while.
Williamson also has another GH connection in great friend Kimberly McCullough (Robin, GH) and couldn’t wait to tell her she landed the role.
“Kimberly was like, ‘Oh, my God, that’s so fun, totally do it!’ And I was like, ‘Yes, of course, I’m going to!’ I love that she still watches the show every day,” the actress told Digest.
Fans have anticipated the arrival of Claudette for months and finally get to meet Nathan’s ex-wife in July.
