Life After General Hospital: New Shows, Traveling, and MORE!

Life goes on, and so does life after General Hospital (GH), as three formerly prominent Port Charles mainstays can attest to.

Here’s a look at what Bryan Craig (ex-Morgan Corinthos), Anthony Geary (ex-Luke Spencer) and Rebecca Budig (ex-Hayden Barnes) have been up to since exiting the soap world.

Bryan Craig
After three years of playing bipolar Morgan Corinthos and nabbing two Daytime Emmy awards as Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series (2016 and 2017), Bryan Craig was eager to roll the dice, leave daytime, and explore other career avenues.

The talented Craig quickly landed a recurring role on military drama Valor (as Sgt. Adam Coogan), and he’ll follow that up with the main role on the upcoming ABC drama Grand Hotel (as Javi Mendoza), set to premiere in 2019.

Meanwhile, on a personal note, the actor, who proposed to GH co-star Kelly Thiebaud (ex-Britt) before leaving the soap, is currently unattached. The couple called off their engagement in 2016.

Rebecca Budig
Cast as con woman Hayden Barnes in 2015, Rebecca Budig had a rollercoaster run in Port Charles. After an affair with Nikolas (Tyler Christopher), a surprise revelation as Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) sister, and romance with Finn (Michael Easton) that led to a pregnancy, the character’s life completely turned around and seemed en route to real happiness. That is, until the show’s scribes abruptly wrote her off.

Since she got pink-slipped, Budig’s been enjoying life with her husband Michael Benson and their three-year-old daughter Charlotte Jo. In between some traveling to Kentucky and Minnesota to visit family and her mommy duties, Budig found time to take an acting class with former All My Children castmate Michael Knight (ex-Tad).

And her voice can be heard on the audiobook Folded Notes From High School, written by her friend Matt Boren of How I Met Your Mother.

Anthony Geary
Since retiring from acting in 2015 and exiting his epic role of Luke Spencer, for which he won eight Daytime Emmy awards as Outstanding Lead Actor, Anthony Geary said goodbye to Hollywood – literally.

He sold his spacious Hollywood Hills house for $950,000 and relocated to his other home in Amsterdam.

Geary’s been enjoying a peaceful laidback life in the Netherlands ever since, exploring the city’s cobblestone streets, historical buildings, art and culture. “I’m so grateful to be able to live in this amazing city,” he told Soaps in Depth.

He did return to acting for one brief moment in May 2017. Geary made a cameo appearance as Luke to usher out former GH wife, Jane Elliot (ex-Tracy), who also decided it was time to bid adieu to daytime.

General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
