A Letter to General Hospital’s Jason From the Soap Hub Team

Dear Jason-

You leave us frustrated, perplexed, and coming back for more because you’re that good. The people who create you know how to tell a story, create characters, and create dialogue that makes us want to scream at a TV screen.

“No matter what I do, there’s gonna be a good woman who loves me who gets hurt. How am I supposed to live with that?”

There it is, Jason. We wish you knew just how wrong you are. Yes, if you make a startling choice, one good woman will be hurt. Very true. However, if you make the choice fans are clamoring for, another woman will get hurt, but good? We don’t think so.

With one choice, a woman who once did some pretty terrible things but turned her life around will feel incredible hurt and pain–maybe even worse than the pain she felt when she thought you were dead. The other woman? Let’s see.

Good? Well, she wants to be good. She wants to think she’s good, and she certainly has others fooled into thinking she’s good. However, in reality, she lies. A lot. She’s been lying to you for months. She lied to you when you knew you were Jason Morgan years ago. She’s covering up an attempted murder that saw a woman get shot in the head. She lies to her own child. She conspires with the Cassadines–or at least one Cassadine. This is not the sign of a good woman, but you don’t know that, do you, Jason? How can you? She’s placed herself so far into your life and makes sure you only see what she wants. She’s tried to create her ideal man, and like years ago, she uses you as her base model.

You say you’re not Jason Quartermaine. You say you’re not Jason Morgan. You think memories are the key to who you are. Jason, take old pal Spinelli’s advice whether you remember him or not. The instincts are there. The connections are there. Now, you have to just…be.
