It may take a while for what goes around to come around on General Hospital (GH), but–as long as the writers remember–it eventually does.
Back in the mid-1990s, a pretty blonde schemer came to town to seek revenge on people who really hadn’t done her all that much harm, and ended up breaking up marriages, causing nervous breakdowns, and producing a baby that drove story for decades after.
Twenty years later, that baby, Michael (Chad Duell), is dealing with his own pretty, pregnant schemer. But he isn’t on his own.
That’s because his mother, Carly (Laura Wright) – she who broke up Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman) and Tony’s (Brad Maule) marriage while claiming Tony fathered Michael – is absolutely obsessed with getting Nelle (Chloe Lanier) out of her precious baby’s life.
It may take one to know one, but should Carly give it a rest? Here’s what over 12,000 fans voted for:
Stay the Course
Heck, no, chant 60% of you. Nelle has a world of hurt coming to her, and Carly is the perfect person to dish it out. Anyone else would have felt some empathy and would have seen themselves and remembered what it felt like to be the pariah of Port Charles. But not Carly. She doesn’t know when to quit. And you love her for it.
Forgiveness Is Divine
Carly would be better off luring Nelle to her side, suggest 25% of the audience. Her baby is a Quartermaine, and Carly loves making Monica (Leslie Charleson) suffer. If she drops her vendetta against Nelle, they can both keep the child from Monica. Won’t that be fun?
Maybe Baby
And then there are the 14% who can’t make up their minds. Both scenarios seem like they might yield good stories. So you’re just going to sit back, watch, and see how it all plays out before making any firm decisions.
