There is power in the Internet and General Hospital star Laura Wright hopes to utilize that power to help her son’s friend save his newest family member.
The popular actress took to Twitter to make the plea to her followers: “This is my son’s best friend —- his heart is breaking ….. any amount can help.”
She includes a link to a GoFundMe page in which you see a picture of the adorable puppy. The goal is to raise $5,000 to help with the mounting vet bill and it lists Liam Pollenz as the person who created it, which we assume is Wright’s son John’s friend.
“Maiya is a 10-week-old puppy that I bought without being told of her health issues. Upon bringing her home on January 13th I immediately started to notice that something wasn’t right. The next morning I took her to my local vet who informed me that she was very sick.”
The news is heartbreaking and anyone who has a beloved family pet can certainly relate. The site went on to share more about what’s exactly going on.
“The immediate diagnosis was severe anemia. The anemia has weekend her body to the point to where she needs a blood transfusion. Please be the miracle to save Maiya’s life.”
The transfusion will buy the vet more time to figure out how to treat the anemia and to figure out what is causing it.
Treatment at that point could involve medication or even surgery. But at least a transfusion could help to make a full and accurate diagnosis.
