James Patrick Stuart Is This Week’s Biggest General Hospital Fan

General Hospital has been delivering classic soap opera over the past week with the return of Nikolas Cassadine coinciding with the downfall of Valentin Cassadine and nobody is loving watching it more than James Patrick Stuart, who brings Valentin to life.

He admits he usually doesn’t watch the show or himself, but this week he just had to because everything we all saw was oh-so-good.

“I don’t always watch myself on General Hospital. I’m definitely watching today’s because it is the payoff of a years work. First of all…. how amazing is Genie Francis?!?,” he tweeted on Monday.

And it just got better as we rolled into Tuesday and Valentin was cornered in Port Charles’ Rice Park and forced to say goodbye to daughter, Charlotte, as he was arrested for a myriad of odd crimes.

Still, Stuart remained everyone’s cheerleader as the story played out, including Maura West and her stunt double, as Valentin dared to push Ava off that infamous Wyndemere parapet last week.

And let us not forget little Scarlett Fernandez who plays Charlotte as she told Papa she knew it would be all right, even if he had to leave her for a little while.

“@iamscarley, you little scene stealer… that little hand on my face was everything. You are growing into quite the actress. Love, proud Papa,” Stuart tweeted with a photo of the two of them.

Of course, fans had to rave about his performance and the tragic character that is Valentin. That’s when we learned what Valentin’s portrayer thinks of this man who it turns out may not be a Cassadine after all.

“I’ve played a lot of bad guys. I’ve always wanted to play one that blurred the line for you a bit. Val’s my boy. Broken beyond repair but I love him.”

We can’t wait to see what else Stuart and his co-stars have in store in the coming days and weeks as this story plays out and Valentin loses everything he ever believed was his. Bravo! General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
