Susan Brown, who played Gail Baldwin on General Hospital for decades, will be honored by the show according to TV son, Kin Shriner.
Brown passed away late this summer after battling Alzheimer’s; a disease that the show is showcasing with Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) father, Mike (Max Gail).
Brown joined the ABC soap back in 1977 and appeared on it into the early 2000s. In fact, her last appearance was in 2004 when Gail and Lee attended the memorial service for Lila Quartermaine (Anna Lee). The show already did a tribute to Peter Hansen, who played Lee, when they had Scott (Kin Shriner) deal with his father’s loss.
Now comes word from Shriner himself that GH has already shot a tribute to the late actress. The actor took to Twitter to share the news after a fan had sent him a fun video of Gail surprising Scott as part of a birthday wish to the actor, who celebrated his big day Thursday.
“A tribute show to Susan shot in the can airing soon!”
While we don’t know what that tribute will include, Gail was a dear friend to Monica (Leslie Charleson) — acting as a mother figure.
So, it would be wonderful to see that history honored. Genie Francis’ Laura should also be included and hopefully we once again see the return of Scott’s daughter, Serena (Carly Schroeder).
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
