Soap vet and new “General Hospital” face Bree Williamson had some apprehension about the much-anticipated role of Claudette, but fan support and her many on-set friends soon made her feel a lot better!
Upon accepting the offer to play Nathan’s (Ryan Paevey) mysterious ex-wife, Williamson experienced her first anxious moment or two, she told Soap Opera Digest.
“I was nervous, coming back,” she told Digest. “I was like, ‘Are people going to want to see me still?’”
The almost immediate positive reaction from fans soon put her at ease.
“It gave me the warm fuzzies,” Williamson said.
Hearing from old friend and Executive Producer Frank Valentini that the GH head writers had her in mind to play Claudette, helped the popular star even more.
The many members of the GH cast she counts among her friends made her feel right at home, including Rebecca Budig (Hayden Barnes) and Finola Hughes (Anna Devane), whom she met through Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio Drake).
Her first scene with Ryan Paevey was a hit, too!
“I walked away feeling like, ‘Wow, what a nice, nice guy.’ He’s an attractive fellow, but you expect soap guys to be good-looking. He was more than that; he was a gentleman,” Williamson said.
The actress relishes working in LA, where she lives with her husband, Michael Roberts, and their 5-year-old son, McGreggor. As an actress, she has had jobs that kept her apart from her son for up to two weeks. Getting to hop in her car and drive to her job as the new “spicy bad girl” in Port Charles definitely agrees with her!
