Rebecca Herbst Celebrate An Incredible Milestone You Can’t Miss!!

Rebecca Herbst ( Liz) is celebrating a very surprising milestone this week on General Hospital (GH).

Even though the actress looks to be about 20 years old now, she is actually celebrating her 20th anniversary on the soap – and it’s not like she was born on the show.

In fact, Liz came on the Port Charles scene as a troubled teenager, jealous of her sister Sarah who everyone seemed to prefer to her – especially Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson). Lucky caught Liz’s eye early but he didn’t see her that way.

Sarah wanted Lucky’s half-brother, Nikolas (Tyler Christopher), which worked out well for Liz but didn’t make her warm up to her sister any faster. Liz was a giant pain in the butt – until one night changed everything.

On that fateful night, Lucky found Liz coming out of the bushes after having been raped. Rebecca Herbst did an amazing job back then with that storyline, which served two purposes. It brought Lucky and Liz together – and tore Lucky and his father apart.

This was the time Lucky learned that his father Luke (Tony Geary) raped his mother Laura (Genie Francis) and it turned his world upside down.

It was quite an auspicious start for the young actress, and she’s handled so much more over these last 20 years. The character has survived heartbreak, devastating loss, and having three sons by three different fathers.

She evolved from a starry-eyed teen artist into a respected nurse at General Hospital. It’s been an exciting ride and we can’t wait to see what the next 20 years bring.
