Heartbreak Hotel: How General Hospital Fans Feel About Ava’s Fate

Ava is used to getting bad news on General Hospital, yet she’s still considered by many to be the town pariah.

She’s been kidnapped by Nina (Michelle Stafford), who cut her open and stole her baby. Then, when Ava (Maura West) got said baby back, she lost custody to Sonny (Maurice Benard), because the court believed Ava’s mob past was a bigger threat to the tot than Sonny’s mob present.

She’s had guys dump her right and left, most recently Griffin (Matt Cohen), who added insult to injury by bedding Ava’s older daughter, Kiki (Hayley Erin). And then Kiki was killed by a serial killer!

The one bright spot in Ava’s life was her new boyfriend, Kevin (Jon Lindstrom), who not only respected Ava, but seemed to love and support her for who she was — warts and all. It was a new and novel experience for the character.

And then she found out Kevin was really Ryan, his psycho twin brother who’d stashed Kevin away, taken his place, divorced Laura (Genie Francis) and, oh, yeah, Ryan was also the serial killer who’d snuffed out Kiki.

It’s hard not to, 77% confess. She’s been through the wringer and, this time, it’s not her fault! Ava may have done some terrible things in the past, including to Morgan (Bryan Craig) and Franco (Roger Howarth), but no one deserves to lose their child — then find out they were about to marry her killer!

Happy Face
Nope, 33% are just as quick to swing in the other direction. Ava is the most terrible whoever terrible-d. Her sins are written in stone, while all others’ are written in water.

Port Charles needs a scapegoat, and it couldn’t have happened to a nicer gal. You will never feel sorry for her, and you hope she has more hell coming!
