It’s a shame that in 2017, women still have to teach men how to show them some respect, even young women who should be living in a new and modern world of equality.
Sadly, even our favorite young soap stars have to deal with the fact that men still believe it’s their world and women are just objects.
According to General Hospital (GH) star, Haley Pullos, that’s just not okay.
And, she has no problem using social media to let people know it.
While she never said what prompted a series of tweets trying to explain how to treat women, she used her social media soap box to voice her feelings, asking men what they think their catcalls will even accomplish. She also called them “absolutely terrifying.”
And they can be, as we never know what a man is really thinking behind his lewd remarks. Does he have intent behind the words–or are they nothing more than words? And, even if they are just words, they do hurt.
Pullos also showed us her strong female side earlier this year in the Lifetime movie From Straight A’s, in which she played a young college student who turned to the adult entertainment field to make money for school.
When the movie first aired, she told Soaps In Depth: “It’s about a woman who couldn’t pay her tuition, so she decides to go into a legal field of work — and gets terrorized. I’m so pro-women and so pro-being able to make your own choices.”
GH fans watched Pullos grow up on screen, and Soap Hub is proud of the strong and confident young woman she’s become.
