General Hospital (GH) fans rejoiced on Tuesday when news of the return of Genie Francis broke after the actress was dropped from contract status early this year.
Losing Laura brought immediate fan outrage, but it looks like GH listened and Francis is back on contract and excited to begin bringing Laura to life again.
On Tuesday night, she tweeted her gratitude along with a picture of herself holding what looks like a brand-new contract and fans couldn’t be happier.
“I’m looking forward to coming home, and I am really excited about this new invigorating storyline they have for Laura. I look forward to the next chapter of this prolific and historic character,” Francis told TV Insider about her return.
Executive Producer Frank Valentini told TV Insider there are good things to come.
“I’m really excited for Genie to be rejoining the cast, and we have an amazing story for her.”
Laura may be walking into quite a story as there’s speculation that the man she married may not be Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) at all. Perhaps he was Kevin’s twin Ryan Chamberlain.
And, if Laura did marry Kevin, there’s a chance that Ryan and Kevin were switched in recent months and Kevin is the mystery patient at Ferncliff.
