Although it’s unconfirmed, Soap Hub hears that Father Dr. Griffin Munro will not be a part of Port Charles and General Hospital anymore as Matt Cohen is leaving the 55-year-old soap.
Cohen joined General Hospital in 2016 as Sonny’s new doctor after he was left paralyzed as a result of a gunshot wound. We soon learned he was actually Duke Lavery’s heretofore unheard of son, endearing him to Anna, who was still mourning Duke’s death.
A few months later, we also learned the doctor was a priest when he suddenly volunteered to perform last rites on Carlos Rivera, the man who shot and killed his father a year earlier.
Wait, it gets even better. Griffin was a fallen priest who had an affair with Nathan’s heretofore unheard of wife, Claudette. When Nathan found them in bed, he shot Griffin, but Griffin never pressed charges.
Over the last two years, Griffin managed to get involved with Ava Jerome and her daughter, Kiki, and is now an angry, lost soul ex-priest mourning the love of his life, Kiki, although they were barely together more than a month.
Well, with Ava wanting nothing to do with him and Kiki dead, we guess Griffin might not have much to do in Port Charles soon.
Might Griffin even become another victim of the serial-killing Ryan? Only time will tell, but it looks like time will be running out soon for this character one way or another.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
