On General Hospital, the question fans have been waiting for since Sam (Kelly Monaco) divorced him have finally crossed Jason’s (Billy Miller) lips. But before we get to that, let’s back up a bit.
A Step Back in Time
To recount all the trials and tribulations this couple has been put through over the years would take forever, and frankly you probably know it by heart anyway. But if we went back to the recent past, when Jason fell in love with Sam but still didn’t have his memory, Sam divorced him to the chagrin of the entire Internet and Jason himself.
She wanted them to have a fresh start, as they currently were, without the baggage of a past he couldn’t remember. The pull between them has always been powerful. Remember on their last anniversary, when he thought he was Jake Doe, they saw each other at the same Chinese restaurant where they had married, the older Chinese woman insisted he was Jason and they should renew their vows.
Meant to Be
Flash forward to now – and Sam finally confides in the man she loves that they’re going to have a baby. She finally confesses her fear about what could lay ahead for them. Jason can tell she’s almost afraid to believe they could be happy.
He lets her know that, “the next time you feel panicked, grab this hand. I promise you I’ll be right there, and I’m not gonna let you go.” What woman wouldn’t swoon if a man said that to her? Well done, Jason, well done! But he wasn’t done…

Jason let Sam know they weren’t going to make the same mistakes as before. This new and improved (and communicative) Jason is just who Sam needs right now to get her through the scary stuff that we all know must be on the horizon. With that, Jason got down on one knee and told Sam that he wanted her to be his wife. He asked if she would marry him, capping off a great emotionally satisfying episode!
