Longtime “General Hospital” star Dominic Zamprogna shared his thoughts on Dante, Lante, and a charity close to his heart!
No Seven-Year Itch Here
This past June 22 marked Zamprogna’s seventh year playing stand-up guy and PCPD detective Dante Falconeri.
“Some fans sent me some clips. I thanked them on Twitter, and it was cool to have been reminded of the anniversary,” Zamprogna told The TV Water Cooler.
The Infamous Dante, Lulu, and Valerie Triangle
Zamprogna said the story chronicling his affair with Valerie (Brytni Sarpy) and subsequent breakup with Lulu (Emme Rylan) was “a little traumatic” for the couple’s fans and even the actors themselves. Many saw Dante and Lulu as dependable and reliable, kinds of like “their rock.”
Thankfully, Lante is back together, and Valerie is finding her way in life and love.
A Charity With Special Meaning for Zamprogna
Last month Zamprogna, along with costars William deVry and Robert Palmer Watkins, attended a charity event for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC).
Soon after being diagnosed with leukemia, Zamprogna’s mother passed away. Thus, raising awareness and money for LLSC is particularly important to him.
“I enjoy attending the [fan] events that are for charity because it’s nice to be part of something bigger,” Zamprogna said.
A Similarity Between Zamprogna
It looks like the actor and his on-screen alter ego both have big hearts. Dante would do anything for his wife and son, and he sticks by his dad and brothers too.
Here’s to seven more years of Zamprogna as Dante Falconeri, bringing this super cop to life.
