Airing retro episodes while the General Hospital set remains closed due to the coronavirus pandemic has brought many yesteryear favorites to the forefront on the ABC soap.

General Hospital Baddies

But none so glaringly so as the show’s greatest bad guys – and girls – of yesteryear. In fact, it’s made viewers long to see even more of these villains of the past. Here’s a look at three of them.

Jerry Jacks

Good guy Jax’s (Ingo Rademacher) unscrupulous brother, Jerry (Sebastian Roché), was one of show’s most delectable scoundrels. The character’s return in 2007, under the alias of James Craig and with a new face thanks to the wonders of plastic surgery, instantly amped-up the drama in Port Charles, when he and a group of masked gunmen took patrons at Metro Court hostage.

Roché’s Jerry was cryptic and cunning, a guy who’s next move you never saw coming. And there were many, from poisoning Nikolas to kidnapping Sam to stabbing Claudia (Sarah Joy Brown). Best of all, there was a sexy charming quality about Jerry. So despite his perennial position on PC’s most wanted list, he was still appealing.

Faith Roscoe

If there was ever a female villainess who could give Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) a run for her money, it was mob queen Faith Roscoe. Cynthia Preston was outstanding from the minute she stepped into the lusciously lethal role. Arriving in town in 2002 to take down Sonny (Maurice Benard), Faith originally teamed up with Ned (Wally Kurth) before joining forces with Ric (Rick Hearst).

Among her most heinous crimes, she poisoned and pushed a pregnant Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) down a flight of stairs, tried to rape a drugged Jason (Steve Burton), and kidnapped Sonny’s trio of kids – Michael, Kristina, and Morgan. Faith was evil personified, and Preston played her to perfection.

Lorenzo Alcazar

Ted King took on the role of Lorenzo Alcazar in 2003 when he showed up in town to avenge the death of his twin brother, Luis. He immediately zeroed in on Sonny, knowing Luis had been linked to the mobster and enlisted Sonny’s estranged brother Ric’s help in taking him down.

King’s Lorenzo was calculating and sinister, yet there was always a smooth suaveness about him. The character’s obsession with Carly proved to be his downfall when Sonny ultimately ended up having him eliminated, which makes his return impossible. Unless, of course, there’s another lookalike Alcazar triplet somewhere out there. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
