As General Hospital (GH) celebrated its 14,000th episode today, the star who made the soap a household name, but was dropped from contract status last month, had a few words to say on this milestone occasion.
The always-gracious star had nothing but good thoughts for the soap today and let her feelings be known in a tweet that took us back decades to when Francis was the show’s young ingenue.
The soap world was shocked last month when news broke that Francis had been dropped to recurring status right in the middle of a hot story. Laura was running for mayor, but shut her campaign down out of nowhere, explaining grandson Spencer had broken both legs and needed her in Europe.
Word on social media was that Francis had not wanted to appear in just a handful of episodes a year, but that apparently didn’t stop her from having well wishes for the soap she called home on and off since her teen years.
The actress congratulated the soap, acknowledging the millions of lives it’s touched since it first hit the airwaves in 1963. She even tagged Executive Producer Frank Valentini, who it was rumored refused to see her after she learned the news of her contract status.
Could this be hope that the actress will return or is this just an actress being as kind and professional as she always has been?
See for yourself what Francis had to say.
