Back in the day, Drew had a purpose on General Hospital. His purpose was to be Jason, back from the dead.
He reunited with Jason’s love, Sam (Kelly Monaco). He connected with Jason and Liz’s (Rebecca Herbst) son, Jake. He and Sam had a baby girl — Scout. He and Monica (Leslie Charleson) grew closer in a way Jason had never previously been able to.
That’s because Drew wasn’t really Jason. He was Jason’s long-lost twin, who’d been implanted with Jason’s memories, and so lost his own, which memories of included baby mama Kim (Tamara Braun), and their son, Oscar.
Sam chose to stay with Drew — then went back to Jason. Kim was happy to let Drew co-parent — but ate avocado toast with Julian (William deVry), instead. So, does he have a purpose on the canvas anymore? What almost 5,000 fans had to say:

Drew is a Quartermaine, 58% remind, and that’s always a good reason to stay on the canvas. Monica is running pretty low on sons! Oscar (Garren Stitt) needs him, too. The kid is on his deathbed!

Kim is going to require support, and Scout needs her daddy. So do Jake and Danny, who has a stronger relationship with Drew than they do with Jason. He has plenty of stories left. Drew needs to stay!

On the other hand, 42% of you don’t see why he’s still around. Nobody loves him. Heck, Carly (Laura Wright) even acts like he fooled them all on purpose! And, he’s been dead to Sonny (Maurice Benard) ever since Drew suggested that organized crime might not be the best atmosphere in which to raise children.
Let Oscar die, and then Drew can leave town in his grief…or whatever. You won’t miss him, and neither will any of the current storylines.
