General Hospital’s Parry Shen’s Message to Brad: “Suck it Up, Buttercup!”

Brad getting his skin punctured couldn’t have been fun on General Hospital. In fact, when Britt told her pal during his recovery that he’d been stabbed, Brad had no recollection of it, perhaps having blocked the memory of his mind as it was so painful.

Parry Shen: Brad Got Off Easy

However, Parry Shen, Brad’s portrayer, says that Brad’s injury is small potatoes compared to some of the other fatal scenes he’s shot over the years in various projects. “Stabbed?” Shen posted. “Aw. That’s cute. Here’s a sample of some injuries my characters have had over the years. Ya got off easy, Brad. 🤕 #GH.”

Shen posted a highlight reel showing all the times he’s met a gruesome end on screen. He was decapitated in Hatchet 1 (2006) and in that film’s sequel, Hatchet II (2010), he suffered another tragic end. He was shot by a bullet in The Gene Generation (2007); he took additional lead into his body in the project Sleeping Dogs (2012).

Shen’s lent his voice to video games where he’s met equally horrible fates on-screen. In Mortal Combat (2015), he was crushed by rock slabs in one scenario and torn apart by insects (yikes!) in another.

Back to live action in his living room, Shen had some strong words of advice for Brad as he recovers from his latest injury: “Suck it up butter cup.”

Of course, taking a knife in jail was probably less severe an injury than the one Brad would have suffered had he not gone to prison. When faced with charges for his role in passing off Michael’s (Chad Duell) son Wiley as the one he had adopted, Brad opted to plead guilty and take a prison sentence. The alternative would have been facing the wrath of Michael’s father, Sonny Corinthos.

Now that Brad is out of jail how long will he be staying? Perhaps he could be recruited by the Port Charles Police Department to help them with a case in exchange for an early release.

Now that he’s a patient at the hospital where he once work it’s likely that Brad will cross paths with Lucas (Matt Trudeau), whom he betrayed when he didn’t reveal that the son they had adopted had died. Stay tuned to see what happens next. In the meantime, check out Shen’s gruesome and comical post below! General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
