General Hospital’s Maurice Benard Previews ‘State of Mind’ With Son Joshua

As Sonny Corinthos, Maurice Benard has shared screen-time with TV sons Dante, Michael, and Morgan. Now, the two-time Daytime Emmy-winning actor is appearing on screen this Sunday with his real-life son Joshua, in an episode of his YouTube show State of Mind.

“You don’t want to miss Joshua talking with me about Life, Acting and More,” Benard posted. “It was a beautiful conversation.”

In the Instagram post below, Joshua reveals to his dad that he’d like it if they could spend more time together. Benard’s followers weighed in on his post, many are eagerly awaiting Sunday’s show as father and son sit down for some frank conversation.

“You just be so proud,” said Elizabeth Hendrickson (ex-Margaux; Chloe, The Young and the Restless).

“As much as we miss you on GH,” said @dmartinwebster, referring to Sonny currently being missing following his final showdown with Julian (William deVry). “THIS RIGHT HERE is much more important!”

“Looking so forward to seeing this,” said @debbiemutch. “[Your son] is a really smart young man and he seems to know he can talk to you about anything, I just feel this from watching this little clip.”

“This makes me tear u[, proves what an amazing father you are that your child can come to you and say this, that as a teen he WANTS to spend more time with dad and that he is secure enough to say hey dad I want more time with you!” says @troopina.
