General Hospital’s Maura West’s Daughter Proves Acting Runs In The Family

General Hospital star Maura West met her longtime husband, Scott DeFreitas, when they were both working together on As the World Turns in the 1990s.

West and DeFreitas wed in 2000 and have five children. Their youngest, Birdie, has been proving all month long that she got some performing chops from her talented parents.

The young lady has been starring as Matilda in a local theater production of the same name. Matilda, originally a film starring Danny DeVito, made its way onto the stage as a Broadway musical in 2010 and has been wowing audiences ever since.

The title character, Matilda, is quite the role for any young lady and Birdie certainly gets to show off her acting, singing, and dancing skills in this fun and uplifting musical about a little girl with amazing powers and intelligence who gets her chance at school and a loving mother.

The production opened on January 5 and closes this coming weekend on Saturday. During this time, several of West’s co-stars have been in the audience to cheer Birdie on, including Laura Wright (Carly), Wes Ramsey (Peter), and James Patrick Stuart (Valentin).
