Michael E. Knight and Kim Delaney played siblings Tad and Jenny on All My Children in the early 1980s and have since shared screentime as Martin and Jackie on their current show General Hospital. Now, soap fans have an opportunity to do a meet and greet with the award-winning actors in an upcoming virtual event!

Kim Delaney Talks All My Children With Michael E. Knight

On Sunday, May 16, Delaney and Knight will reunite in a rare Zoom Reunion presented by Fantasy Events Inc. It is set to run for 75 minutes and commences at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT); attendees can sign in at 6:20 p.m. ET (3:20 p.m. PT). Click here for ticket info.

Like many, Delaney has gotten used to Zoom conferences over the last year, but tells Soap Hub she likes to place a piece of tape by her computer camera so she knows right where to look! “I’ve never done one of these [gatherings] by Zoom, but we’re going to test it out!” the actress enthuses. Delaney picked up some Zoom experience when she met with GH to discuss taking on the role of intrepid reporter Jackie Templeton, the role created by Demi Moore back in 1981.

“[Zoom] is how I had my first meeting with Frank [Valentini, GH’s executive producer],” Delaney recalls. “I ‘Zoomed’ with him and Mark [Teschner, GH’s casting director]. We talked about the character and other stuff. Frank’s so great. He’s so focused on all the details. He’s on top of every single character on the show.”

Eagled-eyed soap fans caught a quick glimmer of recognition when Martin first met Jackie on GH a while back by giving a nod to AMC fans who remember the two as Pine Valley siblings. “That was Michael’s idea,” warmly shares Delaney. “He told the director, ‘I’m going to play with this a little bit since this is the first time we’re seeing each other on-screen.'”

While Jenny died via exploding jetski in 1984, she and her brother were reunited a decade later when Tad, after suffering an injury in a tornado, took a quick trip to heaven where he encountered late loved ones. Working together again now “is great,” Delaney says. “It’s like no time had passed between us. We’re friends who picked up right where we left off.”
