On Friday, General Hospital’s Kelly Monaco was feeling very grateful for reaching an important milestone with the show and the support her fans have provided her.

Kelly Monaco — Feeling Grateful

On Twitter, the actress posted how appreciative she was to have appeared on 2,000 episodes of the show and thanked all the people who posted congratulatory Tweets, talking about their favorite memories of Sam McCall.

“Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I am speechless… all the hard work each and everyone of you has put in to my 2000th anniversary episodes,” she wrote. “It took me almost 2 days to read and boy did it take me down memory lane. What a beautiful journey.”

But in a follow-up Tweet, the actress realized that the number marked was wrong; she hasn’t filmed 2,000 episodes. She was actually embarking on a far greater number than originally thought!

“I was just informed that it’s closer to almost 3000 shows!” Monaco wrote. “Holy fing s*it! Wooooooooooow”

One of her fans corrected Monaco, saying that she and another have been keeping detailed episode count records and have data that went back to the turn of the century, and as of 2000, December 2020, the actress had appeared in 2,664 episodes.

It would have been a big loss to see the actress in 1,000 less episodes, as Sam has had quite the soap heroine history. Monaco began in the role in 2002, following a past stint on the show as Alicia Montenegro and having also played two characters on its spinoff, Port Charles — Livvie Locke and Tess Ramsay.

While she’s had many memorable moments on GH, her love triangle with the two Jasons is definitely one that kept viewers invested recently.

And now that she’s decided to go back to her detective work full time, there’s plenty of big story left to tell for the character, so don’t be surprised if Monaco is Tweeting about another 1,000 appearances in the next five years! General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
