General Hospital’s James Patrick Stuart Reviewing Maura West’s Daughter’s Show

General Hospital fans already knew that Maura West’s son Joe is incredibly talented, but now it looks like her daughter Birdie is also following in her talented mother’s footsteps. GH co-star and onscreen nemesis, James Patrick Stuart, saw her perform and he had plenty to say about the young thespian.

The actor, who fans adore as Valentin Cassadine, showed he’s far nicer than his onscreen counterpart — and that he’s a supportive co-star — when he shared a review of West’s daughter Birdie’s appearance in Matilda — and even posed for a picture with the adorable young lady.

“Birdie West, the youngest of the extremely gifted children of Maura West & Scott DeFreitas [ex-Andy, As the World Turns]. This afternoon, I got to watch her in the title role of “Matilda” at Newhall’s Canyon Theater Guild,” he began, before sharing every glowing detail about her performance.

“A voice that puts a lump in your throat, an absolutely delightful & competent dancer… she commands your attention & earns your trust instantly,” he enthused. But Stuart wasn’t done!

A Talent All Her Own

“Maybe Birdie can thank her mom & dad for the charisma, but her chops are all hers. Such finesse, such nuanced & savvy choices… She had me on the edge of my seat & in the palm of her sweet little hands from beginning to end & never let me down. Trust me… you have to see this kid. Now through Feb 23rd at the Canyon Theater Guild in Old Town Newhall, (about as far from downtown LA as Calabasas.) Worth it.”

A lovely review for an adorable young actress. But certainly, soap fans wouldn’t expect any less, considering who her mom is. Viewers love seeing West’s Ava go toe-to-toe with Stuart’s Valentin.
