It was a frightening time for General Hospital star Jacklyn Zeman recently when her family’s pooch, Rick, disappeared. Thankfully, all’s well that ends well and Rick has been found.
Apparently, the dog took quite a trip and it was thanks to a good Samaritan and the work of shelters that he’s now home safe and sound. Zeman’s story also highlights the importance of microchips in pets.
“Hey Everyone! We found Rick! He ran all the way to Westwood and a kind and generous person found him, fed him, walked him and took him to the shelter late last night. Thank God for this person and also for the Next Door Neighbor app,” Zeman wrote on Instagram.
“Lacey [Zeman’s daughter] and Brian can pick him up this morning when the shelter opens. The shelter can accept dogs 24/7 but can only release them during business hours. But they definitely have Rick. His microchip tells us this for sure. Thank you to all for your love and concern and your positive thoughts. God Bless.”
It can be absolutely terrifying when a dog runs away, especially through heavy traffic areas and you don’t know whether he or she is ok or will ever be seen again. But, being able to track your dog by keeping his records in a safe place so you always know his microchip number is essential. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC.
