Does General Hospital’s Carly Meddle Too Much In Her Children’s Lives?

General Hospital’s (GH) Carly started meddling in her children’s lives early. It all began when she didn’t like who Michael’s biological father was. Just because she had sex with a guy, used no protection, and got pregnant, did that mean she had to accept reality?

Not our Carly (Laura Wright)! First, she passed the baby off as Tony’s (Brad Maule). Then she got Jason to claim he was the dad (which is kind of funny, since this was back in Jason’s I-Cannot-Tell-A-Lie phase of brain damage).

Then she decided Sonny (Maurice Benard) was a better option. In any case, A.J. ended up dead because of it. Twice.

Since then, she’s felt compelled to get involved in the Michael/Kiki/Morgan triangle, and is now doing everything she can to keep Michael (Chad Duell) from Nelle (Chloe Lanier) while also keeping a watchful eye on Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Oscar.

Mother Knows Best
Carly has made plenty of mistakes of her own, point out 55% of you. (So, so many mistakes). She knows where the pitfalls are and how to (presumably) avoid them. Besides, Joss is still a teenager, so she needs her mother’s guidance.

Morgan (Bryan Craig) is dead — due in no small part to not listening to Mommy when she screeched that Ava (Maura West) was bad news. And Michael… Michael is hopeless. And helpless. The poor little puppy dog has no judgment whatsoever. With women. And with father figures….

Getting Busy
The woman is a busybody, counter 44% of the viewers! It’s not like she just tells her kids how to live their lives.

She’s also constantly lecturing Jason (Billy Miller) and Sam (Kelly Monoco) on their relationship, plus the entire town of Port Charles about how they don’t appreciate everything Sonny does for them nearly enough. Give it a rest, woman! And give your kids some breathing room!
