General Hospital’s Chloe Lanier Understands the Power of Friends

Daytime Emmy winner Chloe Lanier may or may not have seen her last days in Port Charles, but the former General Hospital star knows she has plenty of people in her corner regardless of Nelle’s fate.

A look through her social media feeds reveals how much fans love Nelle (and love to hate Nelle) and want to see her back—and many don’t believe that the character’s supposed death from falling off a cliff will stick.

While Lanier hasn’t addressed her “exit,” the actress took to her Instagram account and got a bit reflective about the world around her.

“We’re living in an echo chamber where we’re constantly being told what to think, feel and say,” the actress wrote. “Where there’s no room for nuance or civil debate on virtually any topic.”

She reminds people that free thinking is integral to humanity, showing she has not lost all hope. “Let’s remember that love and empathy should be our guiding light,” Lanier wrote and added a photo of her along with two friends, Erika and Mackenzie Orr. “And I love these two deeply.”

Ever since first arriving in town in 2016, Nelle has proved to be something of a wildcard. Although she left a great first impression by being the kidney donor for Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), selfless ways soon dissipated as people learned her true motives—she was the daughter of Frank Benson and had it out for her “sister” Carly!

Over the years, she’s made enemies out of Carly (Laura Wright), Ava (Maura West), Nina (Cynthia Watros), and more, befriended serial killer Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom), got involved with a cult leader, and blackmailed Julian (William deVry) into marriage.

Nelle’s presumed final appearance was as a ghost haunting Carly the morning after her death last month, but we don’t think anyone would be surprised if she starts doing some more haunting in human form. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
